The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Approvals Advisor who will play a key role in supporting the management and delivery of State and Commonwealth environmental approvals for the Gonneville Project, along with compliance with existing environmental approvals. Reporting to the Environmental Approvals Manager, this full-time position is an exciting opportunity to work within a small and innovative team on a high-profile, greenfield critical minerals project. Key Responsibilities Support the development of environmental impact assessment and approvals scopes and processes, including State and Commonwealth referrals, environmental review documents, mining proposals and mine closure plans. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including State and Commonwealth government representatives and regulators, to ensure that project approvals needs are understood and receive appropriate and timely focus. Represent the Company at public forums and external stakeholder meetings. Identify risks and necessary controls associated with approval processes through all phases of project development and approvals. Manage multi-disciplinary contractor/consultant team/s, including development and delivery of scopes of work and performance management. Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders on environmental constraints and opportunities in project design and development. Develop, implement and maintain the Company’s environmental compliance, data and risk management systems and tools. Assist site personnel with the management of environmental work scopes, including aiding in environmental incident investigations and contractor management. Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental standards and system requirements, external benchmarking and State and Commonwealth policy and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the Biodiversity Strategy including supervising on-ground works. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualification, a degree in environmental science, environmental management, environmental planning, resource management, environmental engineering or another relevant discipline. 5+ years’ experience in environmental management, impact assessment, environmental regulatory requirements, and approval processes. Extensive working knowledge of the Western Australian and Commonwealth approvals processes and requirements including Environmental Protection Act 1986, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, Mining Act 1978, and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 1972. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated experience providing support and advice to development and operations teams. Experience managing multi-disciplinary consultant and/or contractor team/s. Stakeholder engagement experience with specific focus on community engagement.
