About the role Roasting Warehouse Specialty Coffee is seeking an experienced Head Roaster to join our team in Airport West, VIC. As the Head Roaster, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the roasting process, ensuring the production of high‑quality specialty coffee beans that meet our exacting standards. This is a full‑time position based at our state‑of‑the‑art roasting facility. What you’ll be doing Manage and oversee the daily roasting operations, ensuring consistently high‑quality coffee roasts Develop and refine roasting profiles to extract the optimal flavour from our green coffee beans Monitor and adjust roasting parameters such as temperature, air flow, and drum speed to achieve desired roast results Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to maintain strict quality standards Provide training and mentorship to the roasting team to continuously improve their skills Conduct regular quality checks and make adjustments to the roasting process as needed Manage inventory and ensure the efficient utilization of roasting equipment Stay up‑to‑date with the latest trends and developments in specialty coffee roasting What we’re looking for Minimum 2 years of experience as a commercial coffee roaster, with a deep understanding of the roasting process Strong technical knowledge of roasting equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain machines Exceptional palate and cupping skills to evaluate the quality and profile of coffee beans Proficient in developing and refining roast profiles to bring out the best in each origin and varietal Excellent attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high‑quality roasts Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues in the roasting process Passion for specialty coffee and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and train the roasting team What we offer At Roasting Warehouse Specialty Coffee, we are passionate about creating the finest specialty coffee and fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
