Oral Surgery Assistant/Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team. Our main rooms are located in Kew as well as our branch clinics in Melbourne CBD, Epping & Cheltenham and assisting in theatre at a number of different hospitals. This all‑rounder role is for someone who thrives on being busy, likes to learn something new every day and understands the importance of being part of a highly valued team. The successful applicant will be working in a clinical role of consulting, assisting with surgical procedures under local anaesthetic and assisting in theatre operating lists under general anaesthetic and also in a support role to the administrative team. Oral Surgery experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided by our experienced and welcoming admin and nursing teams. This position is a casual role offering approximately 80 hours per month which following a successful three month probationary period a permanent role can be negotiated. Job Responsibilities Surgical assisting under both local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic Provide patients with relevant post‑operative instructions Disinfect, sterilize, and store equipment after use Maintain high infection control standards Attend to telephone calls and email correspondence Coordinating patient care including organising appointments, coordinating treatment and procedures Patient invoicing including managing payments and Medicare claims About You Must have Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or equivalent) Excellent written and oral communication skills Superior ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities Proactive, self‑starter who is adaptable Work in a team as well as autonomously Be well presented with a strong work ethic Must be punctual with good time management and organisational skills Willing to travel to external branch practices and hospitals independently using their own car How to Apply If you have the skills and experience we are looking for and are seeking a rewarding role working with a highly skilled and supportive team, we encourage you to apply today.
