About the Team At VU, every course is supported by our dedicated Course and Unit Advisors (CUAs), the first point of contact for students needing administrative assistance and advice relating to their course. CUAs bring deep knowledge of coursework programs within their specialist areas and provide personalised guidance to help students succeed. From understanding course requirements and major/minor options to planning a study year that fits around commitments, CUAs make navigating university life easier and more manageable. They also assist with resolving timetable issues, managing changes to study load and understanding the impacts of taking a break, ensuring students can make informed decisions at every stage. Our team works closely with colleges, course chairs, placement teams, and the clinical learning office to deliver seamless support and help students stay on track to graduate. About the Role The CUA plays a key role in supporting the delivery of our tertiary programs. This position serves as a central point of contact for course and unit‑related queries, offering specialised advice to ensure students are well‑informed and supported throughout their academic journey. The CUA works collaboratively with Course Chairs, academic teams, and professional staff to facilitate clear communication, uphold academic policies, and promote student success at Victoria University. Position Key Duties Work with Student Services and College staff to support students and Academic staff with matters related to course and unit advice. Provide a student advisory service in line with the Student Services Customer Service Framework and in keeping with Student Services current policies and standards for service delivery. Provide timely high‑level advice to current students on academic course and unit related queries. Facilitate advanced standing and meet with students to validate course structure. Liaise between the College, Student Administration and Student Services on any matters relating to a student’s enrolment as required. Salary $91,796 per annum – $99,361 per annum Employment Type There are X2 fixed‑term roles available (until February 2027) Hours 36.75 per week Location St Albans About You A confident communicator with a passion for delivering exceptional service. With a solid grasp of the student journey, you respond to enquiries and resolve complaints efficiently, professionally, and with empathy. You know when to take the lead—and when to elevate more complex matters appropriately. Your approachable nature and cultural sensitivity allow you to connect with students from all walks of life, making a positive impact on how they experience university life.
