The Role The Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection Legal Division is responsible for providing legal advice to Departmental clients that is accurate, timely and solution focused. Advise on the interpretation and application of legislation administered by the Department. Conducting straightforward litigation, for example as trial counsel with a focus on Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection, Building and Energy, and Labour Relations. Providing high quality, relevant and accurate legal advice, with appropriate supervision conducting criminal prosecutions. Appearing as counsel and representing the Department. Preparing a variety of legal documents. Qualifications and Licenses Degree in Law. Current Australian practising certificate that enables the holder to engage in legal practice as a government legal practitioner or eligible to obtain one prior to commencement of employment.
