Safety Coordinator – ITS & Civil Construction (NSW) Join a growing team committed to safety, innovation, and delivering critical infrastructure across NSW. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Safety Coordinator to support our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and construction projects, ensuring a safe, compliant, and positive work environment for all workers, contractors, and stakeholders. About the Role As the Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of our Safety Management System across multiple projects. You will report directly to the Yunex Country QEHS Manager and support NSW project managers, site supervisors, and field staff to ensure risks are well controlled and safety culture is strong and consistent across all operations. You will assist with safety documentation, field inspections, incident investigations, toolbox talks, inductions, and monitoring compliance with NSW WHS legislation and client requirements (including TfNSW standards for ITS works). Key Responsibilities Support day‑to‑day WHS activities across ITS and construction sites. Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments. Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions. Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings. Maintain safety documentation, SWMS, permits, and registers. Support contractor management and compliance verification. Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with company values. Ensure adherence to WHS Act & Regulations, Codes of Practice, and project‑specific safety requirements. Liaise with project teams to provide practical safety advice and support. About You Motivated safety professional who enjoys being in the field and collaborating with diverse teams. Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum). Previous experience in construction, civil, or ITS projects. Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation. Ability to build rapport with field teams and influence safe behaviours. Good communication and documentation skills. Able to multi‑task. Full driver licence and ability to travel to multiple sites. Experience working on TfNSW, ITS, civil construction, telecommunications, or road infrastructure projects. First Aid, White Card certifications (must); Traffic Control knowledge (not essential).
