Description Are you ready to dive into the heart of Australia’s most iconic cycling event? Join us as a volunteer at the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and experience the thrill of elite cycling against a backdrop of stunning coastal scenery. About the event Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is a premier cycling event named after Australia’s Tour de France champion, Cadel Evans. The race is renowned for its breathtaking route along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, challenging climbs, and exhilarating descents. As a volunteer, you’ll be part of an event that attracts cyclists from around the world and delivers an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. With hundreds of marshal positions along the cycling courses, volunteers are invaluable during the event week from Wednesday 28 January - Sunday 1 February. Roles You can select your preferred shift after registering, you can choose to support as : Course Marshal - Experience the race up-close at allocated locations along the routes to advice road users not to cross onto the race route. Field of Play Marshal - Be in the thick of the action, using whistles and flags appropriately to warn riders of upcoming hazards on route. Event village Support - welcome riders and spectators in the event village, support with event information, directions, and pedestrian movements. Aid Station Assistant - support at designated aid stations along course, direct riders to toilets, water, and first aid during their quick stop. Support with site operations, set-up, and pack down.
