Volunteer at the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and experience the thrill of elite cycling against a backdrop of stunning coastal scenery. About the event Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is a premier cycling event named after Australia’s Tour de France champion, Cadel Evans. The race is renowned for its breathtaking route along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, challenging climbs, and exhilarating descents. As a volunteer, you’ll be part of an event that attracts cyclists from around the world and delivers an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. With hundreds of marshal positions along the cycling courses, volunteers are invaluable during the event week from Wednesday 28 January to Sunday 1 February 2026. Roles Course Marshal – Experience the race up‑close at allocated locations along the routes to advise road users not to cross onto the race route. Field of Play Marshals – Be in the thick of the action, using whistles and flags appropriately to warn riders of upcoming hazards on the route.
