About the role : As an Assessment Analyst youll play a key role in managing the assessment of exploration and mining title applications under the Mining Act 1992 and Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991. Your day-to-day will involve interpreting legislation applying departmental policies and crafting clear well-reasoned reports and recommendations for the Titles Review Committee. These reports form the foundation for decisions made by delegated decision makers so your attention to detail and ability to deliver robust legally sound assessments in a fast-paced environment will be vital. Meeting defined KPIs will keep you driven while your input helps ensure timely and accurate processing of title-related actions. Managing multiple cases with varying complexities youll set a high standard for customer service and contribute to continuous improvement projects whether its updating templates streamlining processes or supporting new initiatives. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues across NSW Resources and serve as a trusted point of contact for titleholders applicants and external stakeholders. About you : You thrive in detail-oriented settings and are adept at balancing competing priorities without sacrificing quality. Your strong written and verbal communication skills enable you to prepare concise reports and briefing notes and to explain complex concepts in accessible language. Collaboration comes naturally to you and youre energised by working across teams to solve problems and enhance outcomes. Confident with interpreting legislation and applying policy youre dedicated to delivering high-quality customer-focused services. Tertiary Qualification or relevant experience in a related discipline such as planning mining law or science are essential.
