Temporary full-time role until the end of March 2026, with potential to be extended further Parramatta location with hybrid working supported TRP from $231K to $256K including superannuation, commensurate with experience Through a Whole of NSW Government EOI the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is seeking a visionary Director to lead our Industrial Assessment function for the Development Assessments and Sustainability (DAS) team as part of the Planning Group . This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of experts managing industrial assessments, while contributing meaningful work for a more sustainable future for NSW until March 2026, with potential to be extended further. The role As Director Industry Assessments , you’ll lead the assessment of major industrial projects across NSW, making sure environmental, social, and economic factors are all carefully considered. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and manage a team of experts to deliver high-quality, timely outcomes— even when projects are complex, contested, or policy is shifting. The job is fast-paced and requires you to juggle competing priorities, navigate technical and political challenges, and keep land use safety planning front of mind. You’ll set clear direction for your team, build strong relationships, and ensure resources are used wisely to deliver results that matter for NSW. For more information read the full Role Description : Director Industry Assessments DAS Knowledge & Experience Extensive knowledge and experience working within the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, related policies and guidelines. Significant knowledge of the workings of government and in-depth knowledge and experience working with applicable legislation and regulations Significant experience at a senior executive level managing large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives. Essential requirements Degree qualification in a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
