The pool will remain active for 12 months, providing an opportunity for suitably qualified applicants to be considered for both current and future vacancies as they arise. We currently have one Full-time (1.0 FTE) position available for immediate appointment We have a potential part time (0.8 FTE) permanent position commencing in early 2026. Some participation in an after‑hours/weekend roster will be required in order to support our seven‑day volunteer service. About The Role The Child and Adolescent Health Services are seeking a motivated, relationship‑driven Volunteer and Donations Support Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is central to coordinating our volunteer workforce, strengthening donor relationships, and ensuring the smooth, ethical and effective management of donated goods across CAHS. Working closely with the Coordinator of Volunteer and Donation Services, you will build and maintain relationships across CAHS, community organisations and volunteer groups, ensuring volunteer and donation activities align with identified needs and are delivered safely and appropriately, and with compassion. You will provide leadership and support our large team of volunteers in delivering innovative programs, in over 40 different areas including Play & Wait strategies, concierge services, theatre support, ward‑based patient engagement, and seasonal community initiatives. This is a hands‑on role that adapts to service and patient needs. You will provide practical support to staff and help to make the hospital experience more manageable for children, which might include supporting anxious families pre‑surgery, or joining in a simple card game to help a child get through a difficult day. Key Responsibilities Include Assisting with the daily operations, planning and development of a contemporary volunteer program aligned with CAHS values. Coordinating volunteer recruitment, onboarding, induction, compliance, rostering and workforce planning. Supporting volunteer wellbeing, performance, and conflict resolution, contributing to a positive and inclusive volunteer culture. Contributing to governance, quality improvement, and special projects, in alignment with National Volunteer Standards. Supporting the end‑to‑end management of donated goods, including enquiries, donor liaison, database management, distribution and reporting. Building strong donor relationships and helping identify sustainable funding and fundraising opportunities. Working with clinical and operational teams to ensure donations meet service needs and provide meaningful impact. About Our Team The CAHS Volunteer Service plays a vital role across Perth Children’s Hospital and broader Child and Adolescent Health Service sites, enhancing patient experience, supporting families, and strengthening community connection. Our volunteers range from 18 to 93 years old, many of whom are long‑serving volunteers, and deeply connected to the hospital community. We contribute to more than 40 clinical and non‑clinical areas, including Emergency Department and wards, Aboriginal Health, Refugee Health, Outpatients, Theatre Support, and speciality programs and events.
