Position Title: Sexual Assault Counsellor (Counselling Level 3, Psychologist, Sexual Assault Worker Level 3, Social Worker Level 3) Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Counsellor Level 3, Psychologist, Sexual Assault Worker Level 3, Social Worker Level 3 Remuneration: Dependent on Qualifications Counsellor, Sexual Assault Worker & Social Worker Level 3 – $116,892 – $120,680 per annum Psychologist – $80,452 – $117,755 per annum Hours Per Week: 38 Location: Blacktown – Community Health Centre Where You’ll Be Working Based at Blacktown Community Health Centre, you’ll join the Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS), a passionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting victim‑survivors and strengthening the community response to sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection. You’ll work in a collaborative, culturally responsive environment that prioritises professional growth, reflective practice and collective care. Supportive, expert‑led team committed to trauma‑informed practice Strong interagency partnerships across Western Sydney A workplace that values cultural safety and continuous learning Opportunities to contribute to service development and capacity building Meaningful work that creates real outcomes for children, young people and adults What You’ll Be Doing As a Sexual Assault Counsellor, you will deliver high‑quality therapeutic and case management services to adults, young people and children impacted by sexual assault. You will provide crisis counselling, coordinate forensic/medical responses, and contribute to integrated care across violence, abuse and neglect portfolios. Essential Criteria Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership Demonstrated counselling experience in complex trauma and trauma‑informed practice within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect setting (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence services) Demonstrated assessment, case management and counselling skills with children, young people and adults Demonstrated understanding of the inter‑related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse Demonstrated understanding of intergenerational trauma and the principles of cultural safety, with experience in (or commitment to) providing culturally responsive services to individuals and families Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in collaboration and partnership with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders Knowledge and understanding of the legal systems, legislation and policies & procedures relating to violence, abuse and neglect Current NSW Driver’s License Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: 14th December 2025 Contact: Ly Johnson – Being Female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW).
