About the role The role will work collaboratively with the Cultural Healing Therapists to deliver a holistic and culturally safe therapeutic service and provide secondary consultations across VACCA and to other stakeholders. About You Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose. Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities. Demonstrated experience and expertise delivering culturally safe therapeutic interventions and responding to complex trauma of Aboriginal children, young people, and adult victim/survivors of sexual assault. An understanding of the issues that impact Aboriginal adults who have experienced sexual assault. An understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and sexual assault on children and young people. Requirements A bachelor’s degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work A Counselling qualification with eligibility to be registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
