Health Care Assistant

Overview The George Town District Hospital and Community Services provide 15 acute care beds, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry services, and other visiting providers. Other services include palliative care, community nursing, home help/personal care. The George Town Hospital is approximately 50km north of Launceston, plays a central role in community health outcomes and is a culturally diverse team that takes pride in providing quality care for its patients. Responsibilities Under supervision, and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory, and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant provides high quality care and support to community and/or facility-based clients and assists with a range of daily living activities that a person would normally do for themselves. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant will: Deliver a high standard of care and support to patients at NNDH. Undertake general cleaning of the unit and assist clinical staff where necessary. Appointment Details Permanent part-time, shift worker position, working 8 hours per fortnight, commencing 16 February 2026 (hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant). Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
