Research and Engagement Fellow in the Practice of Pacific Security Classification: Academic Level CSalary package: $142,446 - $158,323 per annum plus 17% superannuation.Term: 2 x Full time, Fixed Term roles available, until 30 September 2026, part time hours will be considered Join a globally respected university, renowned for excellence in Pacific studies Opportunity to work with experts from the Pacific Region through research and workshops Work in a dynamic team with access to a flexible working environment Position overview This position is part of the Pacific Security College's Academic team and reports directly to the Director. The Research and Engagement Fellow in the Practice of Pacific Security is expected to play a leading role in the College's research program and regional engagement, both through their own research and through the curation of a program of research from Pacific academics and policy‑makers; establish and lead the College's program of short‑term research interns; assist the College's research commentary on topical issues; and assist efforts to attract funding to further grow the College's research program. The position will also be involved in College's teaching programs and will support the College's diplomatic efforts across the Pacific, including the sensitive work with the Pacific governments on national security strategies. Play a leading role in the College's research program and regional engagement Curate a program of research from Pacific academics and policy-makers Establish and lead the College's program of short‑term research interns Assist in the College's research commentary on topical issues Assist efforts to attract funding to further grow the College's research program Support the College's teaching programs Support diplomatic efforts across the Pacific, including sensitive work with Pacific governments on national security strategies The role also involves contributions to cross disciplinary studies within the broader University environment. The appointee will work with partners both academic and professional staff to support the strategy priorities of the School, College and University.
