Our primary business is insurance‑related building repairs to private and commercial properties. We have had a presence at every major disaster on the East Coast of Australia since 1989. With no onsite work or travel required, this office‑based role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who is ready to move offsite. Your day will consist of completing between 4 to 8 assessment reports and quotes, depending on their size and complexity. While previous experience in estimating and/or a trade background is highly beneficial, we are open to junior candidates with a keen interest in estimating and insurance repair building, and a willingness to learn. Key responsibilities Collaborating with onsite personnel who will provide the required information such as measurements, photographs, and videos to undertake accurate assessment and quotes virtually. Accurately determining the cause of damage and completing a cost‑effective quote to repair accompanied by a detailed report outlining damages. Building professional relationships with clients and their representatives. Qualifications A trade qualification in Carpentry or a building background is advantageous, but not essential. Experience in insurance or remedial building, with experience in conducting investigations diagnosing and reporting on building damage, faults, maintenance, and repairs will be highly regarded. Experience and understanding in Restoration Work is also highly regarded. Strong planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflict. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
