Desktop Insurance Estimator - career pathway role. Are you a hard‑working insurance works carpenter who has been patiently waiting for a professional pathway to take you off the tools? Or, perhaps you are currently working in a desktop coordinator / estimating position and looking for a more positive, supportive environment, offering upward progression opportunities? We have a new Desktop Estimator opportunity on offer, with one of the industry’s leading National Insurance, Remediation and Rectification Builders. This is an office‑based role , in a professional Building environment, where you will join an experienced team to undertake the estimating and assessment of domestic projects associated with weather events, general damage and make‑good projects. In addition, you will be supported to expand into tendering processes and to also assist site staff with ‘Virtual Assessing’ and project management / coordination support. Further pathways are available in time, with previous employees advancing into site supervision, formal estimating / assessing positions in the field, project management / coordination, larger commercial works and company Management roles. Applicants will be considered from insurance works backgrounds (within the building sector) as well as exceptional candidates transitioning from carpentry / supervisory duties that fall within the advertised salary banding. Additionally, you must be highly organised, possess exceptional communication and administration skills and be able to work to deadlines. Your computer and software skills also need to be strong, as works are delivered on formal estimating systems and form part of a sophisticated ‘live’ platform, enabling tracking and reporting of ‘live’ project data. This will be a fantastic grounding for someone wanting to elevate into a position of responsibility in the insurance works market over time, interfacing with clients and all market stakeholders.
