In this role, you'll: Carry out labouring and manual handling tasks on a variety of bridges and culverts across the district at a sub-trade level. Assist with the maintenance of timber, steel, and concrete bridges, including supporting other trades and performing painting duties when required. Work under limited supervision to complete both routine and complex manual tasks. Safely operate a range of small plant equipment and powered/non-powered hand tools. Identify and resolve routine issues using standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborate with supervisors to address more complex problems to minimise risks and achieve work objectives. Be prepared to work away from home throughout the year and respond to after-hours callouts when required. Enjoy a 9-day fortnight work schedule. About You Are you a resilient and proactive labourer, ideally with experience in bridge construction or maintenance? Are you eager to learn new skills and thrive in a team environment? This role is for you. You'll need: A valid White Card A current driver licence Willingness to complete any legislated or internal licensing/ticketing requirements as directed. Applicants should reside within a 50 km radius of the Bega depot. You must also be prepared to work at heights and in confined spaces—training and tickets for these will be provided on the job. Most importantly, you prioritise work health and safety and are committed to ensuring every task is completed as safely as possible for yourself and your team.
