Junior Maths/Intervention Teacher

Junior Mathematics and Intervention Teacher Join a small, welcoming, and multicultural school in Melbourne’s west as our Junior Maths/Intervention Teacher. You’ll work with a vibrant community that celebrates diversity and supports every learner to thrive. This role focuses on strengthening foundational maths skills, providing targeted small‑group support, and helping students build confidence in their learning. Start Date: 27/1/26 Salary Range: $78,000–$118,000 per year. Key Duties Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons for Years 7–9, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum. Build core numeracy skills through clear instruction and differentiated learning. Use assessment data to identify students needing support and monitor overall progress. Deliver targeted small‑group and one‑to‑one intervention sessions. Develop individual learning goals and track student growth in collaboration with classroom teachers. Provide regular feedback to students and communicate progress with families when required. Work closely with the Maths team on curriculum planning, moderation, and evidence‑based strategies. Maintain accurate records of intervention programs and student outcomes. Contribute to whole‑school numeracy initiatives, professional learning, and staff collaboration. Required Skills & Experience Unrestricted working rights in Australia. Current VIT registration or in the process of applying. Completed relevant tertiary qualifications in education. Demonstrated previous experience teaching secondary mathematics. Ability to provide contact details for two education‑based references from within the last five years. Understanding and support of Catholic values. Full‑time role starting Term 1, 2026. Experience working with students in Years 7–8. Ability to work in a small school community with a collegial Mathematics team. The School Small school of under 600 students in Years 7–10. Multicultural environment with excellent programs.
