Zone Substation Electrical Technician

Description We are currently recruiting a Zone Substation Electrical Technician to join our team in Tamworth. Reporting to various leaders across the business the Zone Substation Electrical Technician is responsible for the construction maintenance and commissioning of Zone Substations and associated distribution equipment. The role also includes inspecting and testing network assets performing HV and LV switching operations and operating plant and remote equipment safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Construct and maintain Zone Substations and associated equipment Install commission and test substation and distribution assets Perform HV and LV switching operations Inspect test and report on network asset condition Operate remote equipment via computerised systems Participate in standby and after-hours duties Operate plant and equipment safely Promote and uphold Essential Energy's safety environmental and quality standards Demonstrate behaviours that support respect equity diversity and inclusion About You You will bring hands-on experience in electrical substation work a strong commitment to safety and quality and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Youll be confident using computer systems and communicating with stakeholders. Required Qualifications / Skills Mandatory Drivers Licence Qualified Supervisors Certificate General Construction Induction Training (White Card) Required Certificate IV in ESI Power Systems Substations or equivalent experience Maintenance of all required licences and authorisations Desirable First Aid EWP Traffic Control Crane Borer Dogman Forklift Chemical Handling Manual Handling Environmental Awareness Switching and Substation Entry Authorisation knowledge Experience Experience in electrical technician roles particularly in substations Experience promoting safety environmental and quality standards Skills Teamwork and collaboration Basic computer literacy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Why Essential Energy We offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience.
