Senior Bookkeeper

What you'll be doing Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Prepare and process payments in a timely manner. Occasional relief and support to the Payroll Officer. Knowledge of human resource legislation advantageous. Reconcile bank statements daily and credit card accounts on a monthly basis. Manage and maintain the company's bookkeeping system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with Accountants. Performing end-of-year roll over. Provide support and guidance to the accounting team as needed, as well as cover for staff on the accounts team. What we're looking for Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a medium-sized to large-sized business. Ability to work Monday to Friday. This is an on-site position only. Due to the fast-paced nature of our operations, remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Triumph is our prime accounting software. Experience is advantageous or training will be provided to a candidate that has proficient knowledge in the use of accounting software. Trouble shoot the programming software with our IT Support team. MYOB accounting software required for Portobello Foods. Proficient in maintaining inventory/profit and loss and balance sheet coding systems. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough understanding of accounting principles and knowledge of ATO processes in relation to BAS/PAYG returns/Payroll Tax etc. Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
