The Solutions Architect team at AWS is responsible for helping customers successfully implement cloud technologies. You’ll craft highly-scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, partner with internal teams, and leverage deep knowledge of AWS tools and products. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate daily and define the future of cloud computing. This role focuses on the Federal Government community within the Public Sector team, shaping and delivering on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS cloud services in strategic accounts and owning the ongoing technical relationship with customers. Key responsibilities Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects; develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are built on AWS. Represent Amazon well in customer environments and drive discussions with senior personnel, while guiding developers and architects. Plan customers’ cloud journey; solve complex technical challenges and craft scalable, flexible, and resilient architectures; lead technical solution discussions with customer teams. Build relationships with customers and partners as a trusted technical advisor; ensure short-term technology decisions align with long-term goals; accelerate adoption of AWS services. Act as a thought leader by educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers and blogs, and running workshops. Collaborate with engineering and service teams to gather customer feedback and shape product direction. Hold or be able to attain Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see Basic Qualifications 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics. 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in software or Internet industries. Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers. Ability to lead complex technical projects requiring coordination with multiple teams. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience. Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS. Ability to create proofs of concept, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or using reusable components. Experience working with Federal government. Ability to present to technical and business audiences (training, workshops, publications).
