Mechanical Engineer | BEng, Product Development (Hons) Employment Type: Full-time Experience Level: Junior/Mid (Mid‑Senior level) Industry: Telecommunications Residency Requirement: Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of a multidisciplinary product development team. You will take ownership of the full hardware lifecycle, moving designs from initial ideation through to testing and final production, supported by our Lead Mechanical Engineer. You will work side‑by‑side with experts in Electronics, Systems, and Software to build next‑generation RF technology and phased array systems that adhere to strict industry regulations and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Utilise Autodesk Inventor to design mechanical components, including thermal management systems, structural racks, and antenna mounting interfaces. Collaborate with cross‑functional technical teams to ensure prototypes are designed with mass manufacturing feasibility in mind. Manage relationships with fabrication partners to oversee production quality and feasibility. Generate technical documentation and rationale for design decisions on shared knowledge platforms. Engage in critical design reviews, hardware planning sessions, and on‑site testing or deployment activities. Evaluate and refine engineering plans and deployment strategies to ensure project success. Ensure strict data management and revision control for all CAD files and engineering data. Assist the senior engineering team in the delivery of sophisticated hardware solutions. Required Skills & Qualifications A tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 2 years of experience in physical hardware design, ideally focusing on large‑scale embedded systems. Advanced capability in 3D CAD modelling, specifically using Autodesk Inventor – SolidWorks experience is welcome. Demonstrated history of creating complex mechanical products, particularly within an agile start‑up or scale‑up setting. Exposure to power distribution systems or network infrastructure hardware. Practical background in designing server racks or mechanical sub‑systems. A strong desire for professional development and mentorship from senior technical leadership.
