Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods – Cambridge TAS Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods is a family-owned Tasmanian business operating for over 10 years. We are heavily involved with industry and have access to some of the freshest and finest seafood in the world. We’ve won multiple awards for our cooked seafood, including the best fish and chips in Australia Our main Cambridge site is open seven days a week for dine-in and takeaway, and features a large marquee for functions. Each summer weekend we attend major events and festivals across Tasmania such as the Taste of Summer, Cygnet Folk Festival, and Hobart Wine Festival. Our chosen applicants will: Have access to reliable transport, noting there are no bus services to our Cambridge venue Previous hospitality and/or customer service experience is helpful, but we can provide full hospitality training for the right candidate providing they are a quick learner with a great attitude Be available on weekends and for dinner shifts Be available to work over the summer period, including shifts around the Christmas & New Year Period Have a passion for food and an interest in Tasmanian seafood Be willing to work at our Cambridge venue and in our food vans at events around Hobart Have or be willing to get a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate Some of our summer casual roles are ideal for high school students, college students, people on a gap year, or university students who are currently, or soon to be, on their summer break. Some of our summer casual roles are also well suited to experienced hospitality professionals. Opportunities for ongoing employment will be available for candidates who thrive in their summer casual role. Tasks & responsibilities: Greet customers in a consistently friendly and welcoming way Share information about our menu, seafood, and general local information for our tourist customers Serve customers live lobsters from our tank Use our point of sale system to take food and beverage orders Prepare and serve drinks for our customers Prepare tables, provide table service, clear tables, and wash dishes Help out in the kitchen with basic preparation, cooking, and plating up tasks when required Participate in cleaning across all areas of the business Restock fridges and put away deliveries What you’ll get from the role: Become part of a close knit team who love working together in a fast-paced and fun environment Great pay based on the Restaurant Industry Award, which varies depending on age and responsibilities undertaken Opportunity to work across different areas of the business to make each day interesting and to develop new skills Experience a wide range of events and festivals through opportunities to work in our food vans Opportunity for ongoing employment and career progression for the right candidate We’re excited to receive your application #J-18808-Ljbffr
