About Queensland Revenue Office Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) within Queensland Treasury is responsible for administering state taxes including duties, payroll tax and land tax, mining and petroleum royalties and certain grants. It also administers camera detected fines and the collection and enforcement of unpaid fines and court orders through the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER). The revenue collected by QRO helps fund essential services for Queenslanders including hospitals, schools, transport, and community programs. QRO supports the economic and social wellbeing of Queenslanders through best practice administration. About the Role The Assistant Commissioner will work collaboratively across QRO to deliver services and outcomes across revenue, grants, collections and fines administration. The role will lead one of the following QRO Groups : Taxes Revenue and Grants Fines and SPER (State Penalties Enforcement Registry) Enabling (i.e. corporate services) Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner and leading approximately 200 to 300 people, the Assistant Commissioner will strengthen strategy, service delivery, and organisational culture while ensuring client centric outcomes and public value. Key responsibilities include Providing strategic advice on legislative, policy and operational matters Leading innovation and organisational change to drive continuous improvements to organisational performance Building strong strategic relationships across government, industry and community stakeholders Strengthening capability, culture and accountability across a large and diverse workforce About You You are an accomplished senior leader with experience leading in complex environments. You bring strategic capability, political acumen and a record of achievement across client service delivery or regulatory administration. Ideally you will have had experience within a revenue or similar style environment, with a deep understanding of the public sector landscape and the ability to bring a strategic lens to support the objectives of the QRO.
