Base pay range A$119,000.00/yr - A$119,093.00/yr The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Volunteer Engagement Team at Family Life. With a volunteer cohort of over 300 across our Op Shops, Distribution Centre and service areas, these passionate and generous community members are core to our organisation’s vision, and you’ll be responsible for growing the engagement and impact of our volunteering program. Supported by two Volunteer Engagement Coordinators and working closely with our Social Enterprise team and other people leaders, you will coordinate the development and implementation of Family Life’s volunteer strategy, inspiring a professional and dynamic volunteering program. The key objectives of the position are to grow Family Life’s volunteer program, streamline processes through effective CRM management, ensure compliance with the National Standards and appropriate frameworks, and drive strong volunteer engagement with a view to improving our customer and community service focus and community profile. Based in our Moorabbin Distribution Centre office and occasionally at our Frankston and Sandringham offices, with outreach to our community stores and sites across Bayside, Kingston and the Mornington Peninsula, this is a dynamic and action‑oriented role, working 34.2 hours per week (a nine‑day fortnight). Key Responsibility Areas Developing and implementing initiatives that will grow community engagement and involvement in Family Life services and programs through volunteering. Driving a program of volunteer engagement initiatives including events, training, recognition initiatives, etc. Leading volunteer recruitment, selection and induction frameworks to improve volunteer purpose and alignment to the Family Life Way, and retention of our volunteer cohort. Effectively optimising the volunteer management components of Salesforce to enhance processes and improve the volunteer experience. Establishing quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase volunteer engagement. Proactively addressing and managing volunteer concerns and issues. Implementing all policies, procedures and frameworks relating to volunteers to ensure Family Life meets its compliance obligations. Providing leadership to the volunteer engagement team as well as guidance to related teams such as Social Enterprise. Your interpersonal and communication skills, as well as your ability to engage all types of people and personalities is exceptional. As the ideal candidate, you will be highly organised, skilled at recruitment and onboarding, focused on volunteer engagement and able to manage a full workload, balancing varied demands with planned volunteer program activities. With strong admin, IT and reporting skills, you are passionate about continuous improvement which will enhance the volunteer experience with Family Life. A reliable car, an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible approach, and a passion for people are key elements of success in the role. A typical week might look like: Implementing a community engagement initiative like a targeted recruitment drive Creating a presentation and facilitating an information session for new volunteers Supporting Volunteer Coordinators with recruitment and screening troubleshooting Liaising on Salesforce improvements to streamline a volunteer admin process Developing a strategy to promote volunteering within an organisational project Advising and supporting a store manager with a volunteer concern Developing a volunteer communication and distributing via Salesforce Meeting with a corporate partner to organise a corporate volunteering opportunity Working at Family Life - more than just a job It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the community in which you live a better place and working with others who feel the same way.
