What we are looking for The Procurement Officer will be responsible for the management of procuring materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for the diesel generator manufacturing process, while ensuring cost‑effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. They play a pivotal role in maintaining an efficient production process and managing vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify potential suppliers, negotiate terms and agreements, and maintain relationships with existing suppliers to ensure a steady supply of materials and equipment. Cost Analysis: Analyse supplier pricing and terms to optimise cost‑effectiveness while maintaining quality standards. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations, while minimizing carrying costs. Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and work closely with the production team to address any issues. Supply Chain Optimisation: Collaborate with other departments, such as production and logistics providers, to streamline the supply chain and enhance overall operational efficiency. Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget constraints. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all procurement activities. Qualifications Industry qualification or similar in supply chain management, business, or a related field, would be beneficial. Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management in a manufacturing setting. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Eg – Accentis or similar. Knowledge of relevant manufacturing industry regulations and best practices.
