Position Overview We are looking for a Regional Principal with relevant experience to join a large dynamic team of educators and support staff at Alta-1 College. About Us At Alta-1 we recognize that adverse life experiences can impact a student's sense of self-worth, motivation and capacity for learning, making engagement in a mainstream school setting difficult. As an independent, co-educational CARE (Curriculum and Reengagement in Education) School, Alta-1 is a Christian organisation that works with students from years 7-12. We provide students with wrap‑around support to guide them on a journey of recovery through a trauma‑informed approach. This approach helps students acknowledge, confront, and resolve barriers that have impacted their ability to reach their full potential. We believe in fostering a highly relational environment where students, teachers and staff develop meaningful connections based on trust, respect and empathy. These relationships serve as the foundation for effective teaching and learning, allowing us to better understand and support the unique needs and aspirations of each student. Meet Our Regional Principals About You If successful, you will be responsible for the delivery of the best possible duty of care for each student in line with the values and objectives of Alta-1 College. You are a relational leader skilled in managing people, fostering resilient teams, and establishing clear structures. Your collaborative nature and in‑depth knowledge of current educational practices for care schools enable you to navigate a multi‑site complex organisation with unwavering confidence. Your talent for cultivating a positive culture and cohesive teams is invaluable as you mentor, lead, and develop capable and compassionate teams across all regional campuses and programs. You deftly handle multiple complexities simultaneously, prioritising strong connections with students, families, staff, church partners, external agencies, and other stakeholders working toward the students' well‑being. You are an educational leader who excels in leading people and systems. With a wealth of data to monitor, capture, and assess for each student, you have a clear understanding of requirements, the ability to engage the right individuals for administrative roles, and optimise data processes with a clear sense of purpose. You also excel in developing strategies to promote continuous improvement in the teaching and learning program across the school, adding an invaluable dimension to your role.
