Clinical Coding Manager

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Manager to join our Health Information team at Calvary Mater Newcastle. This is a permanent, full‑time position. Salary: $55.40–$65.37 per hour plus superannuation, annual leave loading and salary packaging options. Responsibilities Conduct regular coding audits to identify and improve accuracy. Lead and provide ongoing coding education, supporting team growth and professional development. Prepare and deliver education and training activities to the coding team. Educate clinicians on clinical documentation, DRG and activity‑based funding. Complete clinical coding with ICD‑10‑AM, ACHI and DRG, adhering to Australian Coding Standards. Qualifications Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification or completion of a clinical coding auditing course and eligible for full HIMAA membership. Demonstrated auditing experience in a tertiary hospital with sound knowledge of audit processes and data integrity. Minimum 3–5 years of coding experience abstracting and coding across a wide case mix in a private or public health facility. Sound understanding of Australian and NSW Coding Standards. Knowledge of developing, designing and implementing training programs for coders and clinical documentation improvement recommendations.
