Do you want to be at the forefront of innovative interventions for family and domestic violence? Breathing Space is a world first and unique residential program for men who use violence. The program has been running for 20 years and is at the forefront of men’s behaviour change interventions. The program is delivered in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting and provides educational group work, counselling, case management and advocacy. This approach supports victim survivors, including children, to remain in their homes and in connection with their support networks, to maximise their safety. The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitator to join our residential Breathing Space Program. In this role your key responsibilities will include: Facilitation of psychoeducational groups for men who use violence in intimate relationships, supporting them to work towards positive change. Contribute to risk assessments, safety planning, case notes and report writing. Establishing and maintaining effective working and therapeutic relationships. Managing crisis and emotional distress of clients while maintaining professional boundaries. This position will be offered on a casual work basis and will provide a supportive learning environment to develop your understanding and skills. The service operates 24/7, and working patterns include a combination of morning, afternoon, evening, and sleep shifts, including regular weekend working. Rosters are based on operational needs and subject to change. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Specific shift times will be discussed during the interview process. About You You are passionate about keeping women and children safe from family domestic violence, coupled with a desire to help men change their behaviours by being educated on FDV. Additional to this, you will have: Qualification in a human services field, and/or experience in a related field. Ability to identify and respond to challenging behaviours and manage crisis situations. Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Cultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilities. Valid driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check.
