Education Assistant - Auslan Independent Public School – Busselton Senior High School – Southwest Education Region. Work Type: Fixed Term – Full Time (FTE). Salary: EA (Auslan), $ per hour (EA (Gov) GA 2025). Closing Date: 2025‑12‑10 4:30 PM. Responsibilities The Education Assistant – Auslan will assist teachers in delivering planned education programs and encourage a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Under teacher direction, the Assistant will aid in the implementation of specialised education programs and support the delivery of specific Individual Education Programs for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students. They may also interpret for school events such as camps, theatre performances and assemblies, and provide classroom, school and community support to ensure high‑quality learning programs. Qualifications Previous experience as an Auslan interpreter. Competency in interpreting from English to Auslan and Auslan to English. Connection to or involvement with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community is highly regarded. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build positive relationships with staff and students. Professionalism, flexibility and a “can do” attitude. Eligibility Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. Valid Working With Children Check before you start. Current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
