Volunteer Bus Driver

We are currently seeking expression of interest from volunteers to support our Well‑being & Lifestyle team at Camberwell. The purpose of this Volunteer role is to assist with the transportation of frail, elderly residents to a range of activities such as scenic drives, library visits, or shopping, using the Nazareth Care car or automatic minibus. Your passion and enthusiasm will play a pivotal role in enhancing the social, mental and physical wellbeing of our wonderful residents. You can make all the difference to their day Duties & Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the wellbeing team and wider Camberwell residents and families. Engage with residents to enhance their social experience while taking them on a journey. Ensure the minibus/car is parked in front of the house, ready for carers to transfer residents into the vehicle safely, using the wheelchair ramp if required. Transport residents by minibus as a group, exploring Melbourne and surrounds, stopping off from time to time as directed, for example to get an ice cream at the drive‑through. Transport individual residents by car, when pre‑arranged and safe to do so, for errands such as shopping. Comply with environmental and WHS standards, and maintain compliance. Any other duties as required from time to time. Key Selection Criteria: Good understanding of Melbourne location and layout to navigate residents safely to a designated destination. Knowledge and understanding of key local landmarks in the local area would be preferred, but not essential. Well‑developed organisational and time‑management skills to ensure routes are well planned and residents return to the house in due time, safely, as agreed. Understanding of compliance with Health and Safety requirements. Personal Qualities: A desire to make a positive difference to someone's life. A passion to help and assist the elderly with a warm, friendly disposition. A reasonable level of fitness is an inherent requirement of this role. Ability to build and maintain effective team relationships at all levels within the organisation. Strong customer service focus with a can‑do attitude. Demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment to the organisation's ethos, energy and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Collaborative working style and willingness to contribute to the team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Statutory Obligations: Clean Driver's Licence. Flu Vaccine. Current police check. Volunteering in aged care gives you some experience in a sector that is currently growing and where there is abundant job opportunities.
