MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING LOCAL (LOCAL) The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is community-led and integrated through a partnership sharing arrangement, creating a responsive, flexible, and helpful service. In Greater Shepparton Strathbogie - Moira (GSSM), APMHA Healthcare, Wellways and Goulburn Valley Health are working together to offer an easy way to access care and support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns – including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug support and care needs, and their family, carers, and supporters. THE TEAM This role makes up part of the Towards Change Team and is a crucial part of the Victorian Mental health reform work that the Local partners are undertaking. This role will be part of a growing service system that places the community in the centre of the Local Mental Health and Wellbeing network across Victoria. The Towards Change Team provide a range of therapeutic supports and assessments depending on participant need and will deliver evidence-based interventions beyond mental health, extending to physical health, substance dependence issues, employment, and relationships support, as part of the broader Local workforce. The Towards Change Team are responsible for providing assessment, care planning and therapeutic support for participants and will work alongside dedicated Wellbeing Peer Navigators from the Support and Connect Team. THE ROLE The Towards Change Team clinician, employed by APMHA and working with Wellbeing Peer Navigators from the Support and Connect Team, will provide evidence-based clinical interventions for participants. The Towards Change Team will encompass clinically and therapeutically proficient clinicians, providing tailored mental health support to clients and their families via their wellbeing plan, including to those with co-occurring substance use or addiction. The Mental Health Clinician role is located onsite at our new purpose built and modern Shepparton office, as well as outreach based. THE CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS: Current AHPRA Registration for Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists and Occupational Therapists OR Registration with AASW for Social Workers Post graduate experience working in a mental health or AOD setting (minimum 6 months) Training and experience delivering evidence based therapy Demonstrated time management abilities, excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate a friendly, proactive approach and ability to work with competing demands and balance priorities with efficiency and professionalism. Ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
