Ed Support Level 1 - Integration Aide Location: Truganina, Starting Term 1 2026, Hours negotiable. As Brinbeal Secondary College grows, we are searching for passionate professionals to join our team. About the School Brinbeal Secondary College is one of the newest 7‑12 secondary colleges in Melbourne's west. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 7 students in 2024 to a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art educational facility. Currently, the school has approximately 460 Year 7 & 8 students and will add an additional Year 7 cohort each year until 2029, when it will become a 7‑12 school. In 2026 we will add Year 9 to our program and expect enrolments to grow beyond 750+ in total. The school is situated in Melbourne's booming western growth corridor approximately 23 kilometres from Melbourne CBD and services the rapidly growing and aspirational communities of the highly sought‑after Grove and Grand Central Estates in Tarneit. Facilities Administration and Resource Centre – featuring modern design and dedicated wellbeing/allied health space with 6 individual therapeutic rooms. Exceptional two‑storey Science and Technology building. Large Learning Neighbourhood – 14 general classrooms, multiple presentation and seminar spaces, and an array of quiet and small‑group collaborative areas. Performing Arts building. Large Community Hub – features 3 indoor basketball courts and multi‑purpose exercise rooms. Extensive outdoor sports courts and manicured landscaping that allows for multipurpose outdoor learning experiences. Role Overview An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances. Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years may be required at this level (e.g., Level 1 range 2). The role may include specific support tasks, coordination of a work area, assistance to teachers, medical intervention support, technical tasks and specialised student/teacher support roles. Selection Criteria Demonstrated capacity to support students with a disability in the classroom and the yard during break times. Demonstrated capacity to support students to improve their literacy, numeracy and personal development skills. Demonstrated capacity to provide support to students with a disability in practical classes in the secondary school environment, including but not limited to Technology, Art, Science and Physical Education. Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment. Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities Provide routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines. Support communication between teachers and parents. Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students and other responsibilities. Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals and lifting. Communicate with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information. Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure. Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting. Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision, including rostering and organising the work of a team of aides, providing routine coordination, guidance and support to other student support staff, liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources, assisting teachers with the communication of student outcomes and educational programs. Provide medical intervention support to a student or students, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance. Provide specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and Braille.
