Role: Teaching Assistant Rate of pay: £425 – £500 P/W Location: Tamworth, B78 About the role As a teaching assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both pupils and teachers to create an effective and positive learning environment. You’ll work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning, help those who need extra support, and encourage focus, confidence, and participation in lessons. You’ll assist the class teacher by preparing materials, setting up activities, and sharing observations about pupil progress. You’ll also help maintain a safe, organised classroom by promoting positive behaviour and supervising pupils during activities or transitions. Alongside this, you’ll take on light administrative tasks, organise resources, and adapt activities to make sure all pupils can take part. You’ll also support wider school life, including trips, events, and daily routines. Role Requirements Level 2/3 in Childcare Full UK Driving License with access to a car Must have a DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one through Connex Education) Experience working with children in a school setting Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude Confidence supporting individual pupils or small groups Basic literacy and numeracy skills Willingness to learn and complete relevant training (e.g., safeguarding) About the school Situated in a thriving and supportive community in Birmingham, this primary school delivers a high-quality, forward-thinking education tailored to recognise each child’s individuality.
