Goldy's Tavern is a big-hearted, elevated pub in the inner north. Loved by locals and known across Melbourne for warm hospitality, high end product and service and a thriving functions offering, we're looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead the next chapter of our venue. This is a senior, predominantly office based leadership role ideal for someone who's highly organised, systems-driven, commercially sharp and confident leading from both the office and the floor. You’ll also play a key leadership role during an upcoming venue renovation, ensuring operations stay strong, communication is clear, and the project elevates the guest and staff experience. As Goldy’s grows, you’ll help guide the expansion into additional venues, shaping systems and culture that scale. The Role As our GM, you'll oversee the full operational, financial and administrative performance of the venue. You'll work closely with the Director and management team to run efficient systems, support department heads, and deliver an exceptional guest experience across a bustling pub and high volume functions operation. You’ll balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day organisation — including leading the team through a significant renovation and preparing the business for future multi-venue growth. Key Responsibilities Lead, hire and support a high performing team across all departments Oversee rosters, payroll, reporting, compliance and admin systems Manage POS, inventory, rostering and operational software platforms Deliver accurate financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting Drive high standards of service, presentation and guest experience Maintain strong processes, SOPs and operational systems Support busy events and functions with clear planning and communication Ensure compliance with RSA, OH&S, licensing and venue policies Be a visible leader during key services, events and peak periods Lead the operational side of a planned renovation, ensuring continuity, communication and smooth transition Support the Director in venue expansion planning, helping build scalable systems and a strong multi-venue culture About You You’ll thrive in this role if you are: An experienced GM or senior hospitality leader from a high volume venue Minimum 3-4 years of General Manager experience in hospitality is required Highly organised with exceptional administrative and time management skills Strong with technology and operational systems (POS, inventory, rostering, reporting tools) Confident analysing data and managing budgets, labour and financial performance A calm, structured and solutions focused communicator Equally comfortable in the office and on the floor during busy periods A positive culture builder who motivates, mentors and supports the team Committed to compliance, safety and operational excellence Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position Why You’ll Love Goldy’s Award-winning pub with an excellent reputation A well-established, warm and engaged team culture A venue that blends premium standards with genuine hospitality Opportunities for real impact — including renovation leadership and future venue expansion Opportunity to take ownership of the whole operation and make it your own #J-18808-Ljbffr
