We’re a leader in delivering high-end, architecturally designed residential projects. We work collaboratively across Sales, Estimating, Drafting, Construction, Interior Design and Project Coordination to bring bespoke homes to life with precision, innovation and integrity. About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Manager to join our Drafting Department. In this role, you will obtain detailed design briefs, develop concept sketches, and create customised solutions that balance client vision, budget constraints, site conditions, planning overlays and ResCode requirements. Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, you will play a pivotal part in shaping residential designs, from one-off custom homes to dual occupancies and tailored modifications of existing layouts. You may also assist with joinery presentations and landscaping concept development. Key Responsibilities Sketch Design & Concept Development Assess client sites to identify opportunities, views, constraints and obstructions. Translate client goals into achievable design solutions aligned with construction methods and company guidelines. Maintain budget awareness throughout the sketch design process. Ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of quotations and costings in collaboration with Sales. Quality Control Develop, maintain and implement design procedures that meet company standards. Review new sales for compliance with internal benchmarks and policies. Ensure all documentation is current, accurate and correctly utilised. Source relevant planning information from authorities and councils. Communicate required process changes across internal teams. Educate stakeholders on company design methods and procedures. Key Performance Indicators Timely and accurate completion of sketch designs (average turnover: 2 weeks). Positive feedback from the Sales Team. High-quality service delivery to internal and external stakeholders. About You Essential Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential design. Registered Architect specialising in high-end practical homes. Relevant tertiary qualifications in building and construction. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering documents, soil reports and specifications. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods. Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD and Microsoft Office. Confident communicating with clients, consultants and internal teams.
