Invasive Cardiac Support Worker The closing date is 13 November 2025 We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic cardiac support worker to join the Invasive Cardiac Physiology team on the Cardiology Day Unit (K2). This is an exciting post to support the invasive cardiac physiology service with the organisational management of cardiac implantable electronic device patients under remote follow‑up and/or monitoring. This includes implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. Located at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the role combines administrative and clinical responsibilities. No prior clinical experience is required; full training will be provided. The post‑holder will work as part of a busy team, requiring excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job Support the invasive cardiac physiology service through organisational management of cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) patients under remote follow‑up and/or monitoring. Provide patient care, advice and follow‑up services, including technical support for home monitoring set‑ups. Identify technical issues and offer troubleshooting advice to patients. Follow local proformas, workflows and guidelines for coordination of remote monitoring service. Manage and book scheduled clinics for remote downloads for CRTP, CRT‑D and ICDs. Communicate and work efficiently with multidisciplinary professional teams to provide quality care. Maintain scientific practice, patient‑centred decision making, integrity, honesty and probity. Person Specification Qualifications English GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above Maths GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above IT specialist/administration Basic Life Support Experience Experience of administrative work Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks Previous experience of working in a role that requires effective interaction with people Familiarity with Epic computer system Previous experience of working in the NHS Experience working with patients or in a care setting Knowledge Understanding confidentiality and data protection Understanding of customer services Knowledge and experience of using I.T programmes (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge of Trust information systems Knowledge of invasive cardiology service Knowledge of Good Scientific Practice Skills Ability to work as part of a team Excellent communication skills including telephone, e‑mail and face‑to‑face Ability to organise and manage own timekeeping to schedule and deadlines Ability to adapt to change Ability to work under pressure Ability to store and safeguard confidential documents, both electronic and hard copy Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy Willing to take on and learn new skills Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously Additional Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
