About the Position We are looking to welcome either a part‑time (0.8FTE) Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist to co‑deliver specialised, supported play groups and home visiting under the Abecedarian model and provide additional therapeutic support for parents and their children who are supported by an Intensive Family Support (IFS) service. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of children and families. Level 6 SCHCADS Award. Salary range: $110,110 - $114,984 + Superannuation. Government funded until 31 December 2027 with possible extension. Key Responsibilities Co‑deliver supported playgroups for children and their parents/carers in line with program guidelines. Undertake training, as required, in Abecedarian Approach Australia (3A). Undertake pre‑ and post‑program assessment of parenting behaviours and children’s development. Deliver therapeutic services to children presenting with complex and varied communication, developmental and feeding difficulties using a strong evidence base and in accordance with professional and ethical standards. Provide clinical education and advice regarding speech pathology/occupational therapy‑related topics to families/carers, the wider Act for Kids’ team and external agencies. You can read our full position description here under the relevant vacancy. About You A tertiary qualification in Speech and Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy. Membership of the relevant professional body (i.e., Speech Pathology Australia) is desirable. Experience working with vulnerable children and their families with complex needs is desirable. Familiarity with the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3A) is desirable. Experience providing individual and group Speech Pathology/Occupational Therapy interventions to children, young people, and their families. Clinical and therapeutic understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning and knowledge of current trauma treatment trends.
