Apprentice Crew Member - Water and Sewer Apply for the Apprentice Crew Member - Water and Sewer role at Careers at Council. 3 days ago – be among the first 25 applicants. Work in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment gaining hands‑on experience and technical training in water and sewer infrastructure, including mains, fittings, reservoirs, pumping stations and vacuum systems across the Central Coast Local Government Area. 38‑hour weeks with a 9‑day fortnight. Responsibilities Operate plant and equipment to complete job tasks, including excavators, tippers, power tools and chainsaws. Assist with maintenance, repair and construction activities for water and sewer infrastructure. Respond to call‑outs and incidents within 1 hour on site and work after hours as required. Minimise disruption to customers, safety and environmental impact. Learn from mentors and contribute ideas to improve work processes. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Year 10 School Certificate, RoSA or equivalent. Year 10 students may apply provided they complete the certificate before commencing. General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain one. Current Class C or provisional P1/P2 driver’s licence or willingness to qualify. Interest in civil and/or water industries and willingness to learn. Commitment to complete required studies and industry training. Strong customer‑service skills and teamwork orientation. About the Program 36‑month apprenticeship starting January 2025 with a training contract. Training conducted under qualified supervisors, with job‑site rotations and exposure to a broad range of work. Trade qualification to be completed through a NSW TAFE campus or registered training organisation. Salary range: $482–$827.40 per week ($25,131.48–$43,140.64 per annum) plus 12% superannuation. Temporary full‑time role for up to 36 months. Other Important Information Full‑time role (maximum 36 months), 9‑day fortnight. Location primarily in Woy Woy Depot. Vaccinations against Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus may be required. Selection Procedure Applications assessed against essential criteria; shortlisted candidates invited to group and panel interviews.
