Junior Data Engineer

Where people come first and possibilities follow About the Opportunity As a Junior Data Engineer at Adica Insurance, you’ll play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of our modern, cloud-based data platform. Working closely with the Data Lead and broader technology teams, you’ll assist in building data pipelines, integrating data sources, and supporting analytics initiatives that drive insights and decision‑making across the business. What You’ll Be Responsible For Data Ingestion & Integration Assist in developing basic data pipelines to ingest structured data (e.g., CSV, Excel, SQL). Support workflow setup using tools like Azure Data Factory. Help automate data ingestion from internal and external sources. Data Platform Support Learn to manage different layers of the data lake (raw, curated). Support data quality checks and schema updates. Gain exposure to Delta Lake and cloud‑based storage solutions. Help build simple transformation logic under guidance. Collaborate with Data Analysts to support reporting and dashboard development. Learn to optimise data processes for performance and efficiency. Governance & Operations Assist in monitoring data workflows and logging issues. Support documentation and metadata capture. Learn about data governance and compliance practices. Qualifications & Experience Up to 1 year of experience in data engineering or a related field. Basic understanding of SQL and Python. Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred). Familiarity with data concepts such as pipelines, transformation, and storage. Strong problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn. Exposure to Azure Data Factory or Synapse Analytics. Understanding of insurance or financial services data. Awareness of data governance and privacy principles. Education & Certifications Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Internship or project experience in data engineering or analytics is highly regarded.
