Help Students Thrive at School - Rockingham and surrounds What You’ll Be Doing Spend time with students during school hours in a busy but supportive environment. Help students build their confidence and catch up on schoolwork. Offer guidance, encouragement, and a positive outlook to help students reach their potential. Volunteers help students thrive by listening to reading, assisting in the classroom or working with small groups of students. Why This Matters Make a Difference: When students feel supported, they are more likely to engage in their learning and feel positive about their education. You enjoy connecting: Able to interact warmly with children, school staff, and fellow volunteers. You enjoy connecting with children from diverse backgrounds. You are a team player: Ready to collaborate and contribute to a dedicated team. You are reliable: Punctual and dependable, ensuring a consistent, listening ear for the students. You are happy to complete screening and training: We will support you to complete the screening checks and training modules we need to keep students safe. Requirements A belief in young peoples potential and a willingness to share your time and patience. No experience required - just enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine desire to help young people thrive. Reliability, but holidays are OK We will assist you to get a Working with Children Check and Education Police Clearance. Category Young People Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work Companionship & Social Support, Education & Training, Tutoring & Coaching Time Required Short time, big difference From one hour a week on a day that works for both you and the school, during school terms. Training You’ll have access to friendly, easy-to-understand training workshops to get started.
