About Bright Start Behaviour Support Bright Start Behaviour Support is a small, family‑owned practice in Maitland providing neurodiversity‑affirming psychology and behaviour support. We work with children, young people, and families to minimise distress and support long‑term improvements in quality of life. We work collaboratively, value curiosity over judgment, and prioritise creating a workplace where people feel safe, supported, and able to grow. About the Role We’re looking for a Lead Psychologist who brings strong clinical skills and is genuinely passionate about supporting early‑career clinicians. A big part of this role is mentoring and guiding our provisional psychologists, helping them deliver high‑quality assessment and therapeutic services, and supporting their confidence as they develop their clinical skills. Complete psychological assessments and provide evidence‑based intervention. Mentor and clinically support our provisional psychologists by guiding formulation, modelling reflective practice, and supporting the development of psychometric assessment skills. Share facilitation of group supervision with our team of psychologists and behaviour support practitioners to contribute to a reflective, connected, and growth‑oriented culture. Collaborate closely with our behaviour support practitioners and broader team to create affirming, person‑centred supports. Contribute to service improvements, resources, and systems that make our work sustainable and impactful. Have the opportunity to provide NDIS Registered Behaviour Support if you wish to do so, though this is not a requirement. About You You’re warm, passionate, and dependable, and you genuinely enjoy helping others grow. You bring clinical experience, patience, kindness, and a willingness to think creatively. Are an AHPRA registered Psychologist (General or Clinical) with experience in assessment and intervention. Enjoy supervising, mentoring, or supporting provisional and early‑career psychologists, though you do not have to be a board certified supervisor. Are comfortable contributing to and sharing facilitation of reflective group supervision. Value neurodiversity‑affirming, person‑centred, and trauma‑informed practices. Communicate with clients, parents, stakeholders, and colleagues with warmth, clarity, and openness. Have experience working with autistic clients, ADHDers, or people with diverse support needs. Have the right to work in Australia. Why Work With Us? A supportive, connected team that values wellbeing. The chance to help shape and lead our psychology team. Regular reflective supervision and shared learning opportunities. An allowance for robust external supervision to ensure your own continued growth. Full‑time stability, competitive salary, and opportunities to contribute to service development. A workplace where your voice and values are respected.
