An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Royal North Shore Older People's Mental Health team providing clinical care in the community for complex older consumers and their carers/families. This position involves working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. Where you'll be working Royal North Shore Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS) RNS Communicty Centre, 3c Herbert St, St Leonard's, NSW, 2066 What you'll be doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant in Older People’s Mental Health Services (OPMHS) will provide timely consultancy, clinical coordination, advice, assessment and management to consumers across several different settings experiencing acute and/or complex mental health concerns including behaviours of concern. The clinician will provide clinical leadership and mentorship across the OPMHS community team, the inpatient setting and community providers including GP's and Residential Aged Care Facilities. The clinician will facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation care management plans for consumers with complex needs in association with the consumer, their carer/s and the multidisciplinary team. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Registered Nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience in a mental health specialty. In addition, the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification within the speciality of mental health drug and alcohol and other such qualifications or experience deemed appropriate. Demonstrated experience working with older consumers and their carer/s presenting with complex mental health needs and/or behaviours of concern and demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and care plans. Demonstrated experience with quality improvement and/or research activities and developing and implementing education programs.
