About the role We are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the pricing development for Transmission Lines and Substation projects. The Senior Estimator role is a seasoned professional position pivotal in generating and presenting project estimates from initial take‑offs to final cost assessments for all project inputs. Reporting directly to the Bid Manager, the Estimator engages with Business Development, Engineering and Operations disciplines. Key responsibilities Transmission Line and/or Substation Estimation specialist Budgeting of renewable energy EPC projects (including indicative price) Analyse project requisites and specifications to devise cost estimates covering materials, labour and equipment; knowledge of renewable energy project development procedures Compile comprehensive project estimates factoring in labour and material expenses, subcontractor quotations, and overhead costs Conduct comprehensive quantity take‑offs and cost computations based on project schematics and specifications Evaluate and facilitate negotiations with multiple vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality Continuously monitor project expenditures and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle Prepare and deliver estimates to clients, addressing queries and concerns with relevant technical knowledge of product specifications Track actual project costs against estimates and identify discrepancies to make necessary adjustments Ensure meticulous attention to detail so all cost components are accurately accounted for in estimates Perform estimating from first principles About You Tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent 5+ years proven experience as an Estimating Manager across the Transmission Line and Substation sector in Australia Advanced written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of Transmission Line and Substation EPC projects and their unique challenges and opportunities Knowledge of Australian Environmental legislation Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards Proven ability in planning, multi‑tasking and delivering quality outcomes within deadlines in a high‑pressure environment Position Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Engineering, Project Management and Strategy/Planning Industries: Construction, Oil and Gas, Civil Engineering Samsung C&T Australia is committed to building diverse and inclusive teams.
