Groundskeeper (Grounds and Maintenance)

St Brigid’s is a single‑stream school catering to 201 students from Pre‑Kindy to Year 6. Located in the South West, just 2 hours from Perth and 35 minutes from Bunbury, the school values service, respect, kindness and learning. We are seeking a Part‑Time Groundssperson to work 25 hours per week, with flexible hours negotiable with Leadership. The role may start on Friday 2nd January or earlier by mutual agreement; induction (paid) will be completed around the week of 15 December 2025. Responsibilities Routine garden maintenance: mowing, trimming hedges, weeding garden beds, watering plants and maintaining outdoor play areas (reticulation maintenance desirable). Keep grounds to a high standard: pick up rubbish, remove cobwebs, restore pavement and perform general repairs. Prepare regular status reports on facility operations and project progress for senior management in consultation with the Principal. Work Health and Safety compliance: monitor and report hazards, conduct basic risk assessments and ensure the safe use/storage of tools and chemicals. Security and safety checks: open/lock buildings and gates; conduct routine inspections of grounds and buildings. Maintain tools and equipment, report faults when necessary. Assist with deliveries, waste management and scheduling/supervising contractors or tradespeople. Move and assemble office furniture; assist with event set‑up. Selection Criteria Strong organisational and time‑management skills. Knowledge and experience with maintenance work such as plumbing and basic irrigation repair. Knowledge and/or experience with gardening requirements. Teamwork and excellent communication skills. Reliable, flexible and punctual approach to work. National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role. Value safety as a priority in the workplace.
