Where you'll be working 8D is a 30 bed Surgical ward catering for the following specialties: Head & Neck/ENT; Gynae Oncology; Endocrine Surgery – adrenalectomies, breast surgery, complicated thyroids; General Surgery – melanoma surgery; Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery; Colorectal surgery; Plastics; Ophthalmology and Dental. The unit boasts a supportive team, educational opportunities to develop an expansive knowledge base, and encouragement to pursue professional development opportunities. What you'll be doing Provision of support to the nursing team in order to deliver a high standard of care to NSLHD patients. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications and Criteria Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate; or current enrolment in Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) with evidence of completion of Block 1; or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care). Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
