Job Description Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position DARWIN SHIP REPAIR PTY LTD (DSR) is a member of the Paspaley Pearls Group. With six dry repair berths and three wet berths, the DSR shipyard is Darwin’s leading provider in all facets of ship repair, engineering, and maintenance. PME seeks a reliable and self‑motivated Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker / Welder) with an excellent work ethos and a proven work history. This is a "hands‑on" role where you will be focusing on day‑to‑day workshop tasks and vessel work packages required by PME’s fabrication section. Remuneration: $77,000 – $95,000 per year Full Time Employment Key Responsibilities Joining metal parts to create or repair structures, machines, or other products. Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Cutting, grinding, and aligning metal components using various tools before welding. Using hand‑held or remotely controlled equipment to join metals using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding. Examining welds to ensure they are precise, have proper penetration, and meet project specifications. Following all safety regulations and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Cleaning welds by filing, chiseling and grinding. Qualifications Construction White Card. Drivers License. Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III or higher. At least two years of relevant full‑time work experience. Attention to detail. Communication and problem‑solving skills. Teamwork. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Ability to interpret service plans and technical specifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
