The role involves producing high-standard work across a diverse range of steel construction, outdoor structures, and fencing projects, with strong MIG and TIG welding capabilities and extensive hands‑on experience in structural metal fabrication. Benefits Supportive, friendly team Competitive salary Full‑time permanent employment Task & responsibilities Fabricate and weld custom steel components , including gates, posts, panels, frames, safety fences, and industrial parts Carry out structural fabrication for residential and commercial applications Perform MIG and TIG welding on materials ranging from thin sheet metal to heavy‑gauge steel (1mm–30mm) Restore and repair heavy‑duty components such as excavator buckets and machinery parts Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing plans. Perform welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions Conduct onsite welding and repair work , including outdoor construction projects Maintain welding equipment and ensure workshop tools and machinery are operated safely and efficiently Work collaboratively with installers, fabricators, and project managers to meet deadlines and achieve high‑quality outcomes Qualification & experience Welder qualification or equivalent trade certification Minimum 5+ years of professional welding experience Proven ability to produce high‑precision, clean welds across various positions Demonstrated experience in structural steelwork , custom fabrication, and outdoor construction welding Strong ability to interpret blueprints and detailed fabrication drawings Experience with metal thicknesses between 1mm and 30mm Skilled in maintenance, setup, and safe operation of welding equipment Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe environment Ability to work independently and in a team in high‑pressure environments Desirable Attributes Experience in constructing fences, gates, garage structures, and other outdoor metal installations Ability to fabricate custom designs from CAD plans or client specifications Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or construction clients About Company Bulmeka Fencing & Fabrication delivers high‑quality fencing, gates, balustrades, and custom steel fabrication for residential and commercial clients across the Northern Territory.
