Career Medical Officer in Palliative Medicine REQ – Manning Base Hospital – Advertising closes 25 November 2025 Northern NSW Local Health District – Taree NSW Manning Base Hospital is seeking applications from suitably qualified clinicians for a temporary part‑time (0.7 FTE) fixed‑term role. You will work within a supportive, district‑wide network of Palliative Care Staff Specialists, enjoy a diverse range of palliative care presentations, and participate in an on‑call roster. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our new multidisciplinary Specialist Palliative Care Hub, serving a population of approximately 100,000 people across the Lower Mid North Coast. In this role you will provide seamless, person‑centred palliative and end‑of‑life care across acute settings, community services, and residential aged care homes. You will deliver care through a hybrid model of face‑to‑face and virtual consultations, ensuring equitable access and an exceptional patient and family experience. As a valued member of our district‑wide palliative care team you will collaborate with and be supported by a team of Palliative Care Staff Specialists, manage a wide variety of clinical presentations, and participate in an on‑call roster. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive, forward‑thinking service committed to high‑quality palliative care. Candidates Must Have Full General Registration with AHPRA – candidates with limited registration or who have not yet obtained one will not be considered. Extensive experience in Palliative Medicine, ideally with Advanced Training Skills (AST/ARST). About Manning Base Hospital Manning Base Hospital serves the local communities of Taree, Forster, Tuncurry and surrounding districts and operates 160 beds providing a broad range of specialist services. Our services include general medical and surgical wards, ophthalmology, urology, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, TOES, ECT, and emergency. The hospital also houses a renal dialysis unit and other services such as orthopaedics, vascular surgery, intensive care/coronary care, peri‑operative, maternity, oncology, and a new state‑of‑the‑art Emergency Department.
